Message: What would adding a performance chip like a jet or mopar performance do for me offroad? Does it only improve things on the street? Is it worth putting on a 4x4? Thanks!

Message: Nothing real wild, have not done much in NC either. In Colorado, most 4wheel drive use was for the snow but I've had my Dakota twisted so much that I can see the bed about 1 or 2 inches off to the side in the rear view mirror. The torsion bars are not the flexiest suspension either but it serves my purpose.
I've done sand, snow and some mild trails (I'm not into body damage) but no mud yet, probably won't intentionally do mud either, I like a clean underside, call me crazy.
I've never had a 2 wheel drive truck, never will probably.

Message: Where would you go for this chip, and what would you be paying for it? I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, but can buy over internet from anywhere.
What does the dealer have to say about adding in the chip?

Message: Shawn,
The Mopar HP PCM's for your vehicle were discontinued. This was due to problems with people towing with them when told specifically not to. This, in turn, ruined their engines whcih they expected DC to pay for. Jet still makes one for your vehicle, though experiences vary with that chip. It works for some but not for others. I think the people with V6's and 4.7's have better luck with them.
