Just talked to a local guy in his 60's who's been building street and race vehicles for dozens of years. I told him I need someone with a dyno so he gave me a number to call. We talked about the vehicle I have coming and he figured with bolt on's and computer work we should hit the low to mid 12's. Any faster and he said I would need to build a roll cage. His 454 runs low 10's.

Oh, Jeffster, you must not have heard the latest from DC. They have stopped production on Dakotas indefinitely. Just kidding of course. :-) I saw a '94 run an 11.6 last week. He had more than bolt ons done to his. Good luck with your new truck (when it gets here) and keep us posted on the improvements.
Girls and cars......both are high maintenance.

ROFLMAO Wayne. Yes they are both high maintance. I just got that we need time off to reflect speech after 2 years. What does that mean?? I told her how fast the new truck will be but that didn't help much. Oh well hopefully a few moods will ease the pain. No worries she will come around but if not. Hello Jeffster's got a brand new toy.

Sorry but I am out of it. You gonna' havta' explain the ROFLMAO thing. I don't know if I been complimented (rarely happens) or cussed out (happens alot).
As for the little lady, she'll get over it. Mine is getting over a truck, dirt bike, and bass boat. Making up is the fun part....so I keep messin' up. Hehehehe

Hey guys, I took my wife of 35 years on test drives in Toyotas and Nissons. All had 4 bangers and no room. She hated the lack of power and the 4-wheel selecter in the floor.
When we drove the Dakota it was a 4.7 cc 4X4. She is the one that made that choice. Two weeks later the dealer met my offer. She loves the truck even with 15.5 mpg.

wow, 35 and 31 years? How many miles do you have on them? How often do you change the oil? Have you made any major modifications on them to keep them in the "fun to drive" category? Dont you think its time for a new model? *smile*

Actually mine makes 50 yrs. old in October. I'm thinking about trading her in on 2 twenty fives. She is getting to be a high maintenance old broad.(I hope she don't read this or else I'm going to be feeling the wrath of the Magnelite)
