Subject: Beware of grill inserts ! IP: Logged
Message: I dusted off my G-Tech today and took my Dakota out for a run. Was I dissappointed, 0-60 8.2 sec., 1/4 mile 16.4. Thinking all I needed was a couple of hard runs to wake up the PCM and put me back in the mid 15s', but no way, best run 16.25.
I did notice a bit of a flat spot at 3000- 3500 rpm, lack of air ? Pulled out the Lund grill inserts and back on the road, 0-60 7.51, 1/4 mile 15.63@91.1 mph.
Bottom line, grill inserts definitly hurt performance when using a K&N Gen II or similar setup.

Message: Yes I removed the rubber panel when I installed the K&N GenII last year, I just recently installed the Lund grille inserts.
