Subject: Throttle Body IP: Logged
Message: Here's a message I posted on the V6 forum:
Alas, I realize that I thirst for more power or response to the gas pedal.
Whenever I drive my dad's Honda Odyssey, I envy him. Why? Because his Honda has a better response than mine. Hence, a "hard" gas pedal.
I hear that purchasing a factory stock V8 throttle body is an easy solution. So a couple of questions:
1. Which throttle body is best for my V6? Which is worst? And how much are they?
2. Will it affect the overdrive on my truck? Pros and Cons, if any?
3. What's the comparison of the response between before and after with throttle body change AND the original stock throttle body to turning off Overdrive?
4. Am I gonna get flame for asking these dumb questions?
Thanks,
Tim™

So search the archives for questions 2 and 3, because I couldn't find any answers. If you do, post a link to the posts and I'll gladly accept your previous replies.

Message: Sorry to flame but it was a bad day at the office.
Seriously, I think your questions were answered in one form or another in every TB thread I have seen since the beginning of the year.
I'll put it this way, yes it helps ALOT and no it wont affect your OD, and as for the rest I dont quite get your line of questioning.
I think your tryin to over think the whole TB thing.
They just work and give more low end response and for some more response thru the entirs rpm range.
Nuff?

You could probably just do the TB but you really need to open up the intake and exhaust
I don't have any problems with OD and the TB

Message: Thanks to everyone who responded... It looks like I'll go for the stock V8, since I'm on a tight budget.
