What are the specs on the stock cam for a 5.9 R/T ?
If 1.7s were installed , approx. what would be the difference ?

Don't have the exact specs, but somewhere around .440-450 @ .050, adding 1.7s puts it in the .475 range. Someone here has the exact numbers. I run the Crower 1.7s and picked up 26 rear wheel hp and over 40 ft. lbs. of torque on my 5.9 with the rockers and mopar headers. I'll be running a custom Crower cam w/ my 1.7s that'll be in the .512/512 range at .050... Will have numbers soon.

The stock cam is .385" intake .401"exhaust. With 1.7 ratio rockers it is .409" intake .426" exhaust.

CW: .385"/.401" is too small of a figure...the V6's run right about .430" and the 5.9 runs at .440"-.450" (just as Sam stated).

Straight out of a 2000 dakota shop manual:
Lift - intake - 10.414mm(0.410 in.)
- exhaust - 10.592mm(0.417 in.)
Valve Timing
- intake valve closes(ATDC) 62 degrees
opens(BBDC) 7 degrees
duration 249 degrees
- exhaust valve closes(ATDC) 33 degrees
opens(BBDC) 56 degrees
duration 269 degrees
valve overlap 41 degrees
These are the stock specs for a 5.9 cam with 1.6 rockers.

The mopar performance 2002 catalog list , Magnum R/T cam part #p5249549 as .458 int .467 exh lift
with 260/264 duratoin and its cut on a 109 centerline.

So the cam is : .410 / .417............. 249º / 269º
for the 5.9 R/T.
