 Subject: erratic speedo and tranny

What's up with this?
The speedometer needle is jumpin' around and the transmission is slippin' between gears and downshifting at will.
Is this something to do with a sensor, (speed sensor?)

hey as for the tranny part i dont know but my speedo did the same thing. take the dash off all the way down to the bare gauges and pop out the speedometer and check to see if the cable came unattached from the back of it or the guts of the cable may have snapped. it's no real biggie a new cable is only like 15 bucks or so and new guts are only like 5. your only problem you might have is when you get it all back together is that the speedo will be off. mine still is and i cant figure out how to fix it and it's really buggin me. just an idea.

I guess I probably should of posted this message on the V6 forum but anyways....
much as I hate to do it, I have the Dak going to the dealer to see whats wrong.
I almost think the erratic speedo and slippin tranny have something in common.
zerv, I was thinkin' about tearing the dashboard apart to get in back of the gauges, but I thought otherwise and decided to send it out.
I hope things work out, without sending me to the poorhouse.
