okay well i went over to autozone and bought me some lakewood traction bars. problem is, the u-bolts that come with them are too short.
anyone know where i can get longer ones? or is there an "installation kit" for it?
my truck is a 4x4 and the plate under the axle where the leafs bolt on is bigger than i thought.

Are you sure you really need the traction bars?? You do have a 4X4...The traction bars are for drag racing on 2 wheel (or pegleg) drive cars or trucks. It helps with the squatting of the rear on take off...I don't think that you would have a traction problem with your truck.....

Yeah, but the bars are for a$$ end slippage, which you won't get because the front wheels spin as well....as for styling, sure you could make them look good, but as far as increasing performace, you won't see a difference.

I'm suprised at that, must be the beefier 4X4 suspension. I put them on my 2000 RC V6 and thought i was going to have to thread the u-bolts further so i would not run out of thread. I also used about 1/2" spacers in the rear to bring the snubber closer to the spring as well as getting slightly taller snubbers that also match my truck (red) i have less then 1/4 inch from the top of the snubber to the bottom of the spring.
