Subject: I have an engine question. IP: Logged
Message: I own a 2wd 97 dodge dakota. The engine in it now is a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder. I wanted to know if I were to drop a 3.9 V6 in it if I would have to change transmissions, engine mounts, and the rear? Oh and also would I have change the clutch?

Message: Just a guess but the rear end and the clutch should hold up. As for the motor mounts and the bellhousing matchup, I don't know. Check motor mount part numbers at your local Mopar dealer to see if they are the same.

Did you know that Mopar Performance has a shitload of stuff for the 2.5L Magnums? (Man...they got the 4-Cyl and V8 market covered...they left us V6'ers out though.)

Message: Hey Bernard, hehehe, I meant Bernd (I knew the name was German. My aunt married a guy from over your way. His last name was Pundt.) you expect us to feel sorry for you with S/C and laughing gas - not.
Drive it like you stole it. :-)
