Subject: KRC 471 hp Monster?? only 13.125 1/4?? IP: Logged
Message: Anyone been on KRC's web page lately and
taken a peek at the 471 hp rt. they say it only
runs 13.125 in the 1/4? That seems way off to
me. Using the calculator on bernds page that
thing should run atleast Low 12's and with all
that torque (700 lbft +) it should be under that.
Granted the run they quote is on street tires,
but still that seems way off!

Message: take a look at the mph, that tells you everything. obvisiouly the truck wasn't hooking up at all. with that mph and slicks it will see low 12's with no problem.

Message: They might be having problems hookin up all that torque its tough to even it out. Might have been a typo. Read about a Vette that had about that much torque and even professional drives who they got to drive it had trouble keepin all that torque under control.

Message: That was 2.5 sixty footers, street tires, nursing it out of the hole until the 1/8th mile, and the hooking. The truck will run 11.50's with slicks. The 1/8 mile times were the equivelant to a 14 sec ET at 9.0. That tells you how slow I babied the truck out of the hole. Always ignore ET's, look at the MPH to see the power a motor is generating. ET is a function of the foot. Later!

Message: The 2.5 60' time gives the traction loss away and the overall e/t shows the capability. Marty can build some pretty-damn-quick trucks. Don't underestimate his trucks...ya might have one coming up behind you (rear view mirror) someday. ;)
Congrats on that TQ monster Marty!! :)
