Message: Regarding the 2002 Lightning being limited to 100 mph, the brochure for it shows the speeds attainable in each gear, and lists the Lightning's top speed as 142 mph.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that false advertising?

Message: I don't know who started the BS rumor about the 02 Lightning being governed to 100mph but you need to get your facts straight before posting such garbage. I own an 02 Lightning and it is governed at 142mph. I guess your next post will say that a Z06 Corvette is governed at 110mph-Bwahahahaha!!! BTW I also own a 2000 CC R/T and all the stories about how much more the Lightning is and how the R/T can be modded to beat the lightning for the difference, I don't think so. I gave $24,700 for my dak and $29,000 for my Lightning, both new. Now if I throw about 1000 lbs of gravel in the bed of the dak I'll be at about the same weight as the L. Now I could spend $4300 on mods for my dak and still not be able to beat my Lightning safely. (key word=safely) I could probably put a 200 shot of nitrous on and beat it but would most likely be sweeping rods off of the dragstrip. Point is, I love both of my trucks but the R/T just wasn't meant to beat the Lightning without some serious modifications that would end up costing more than the Lightning and wouldn't remain under warranty.

Message: You guys are such BS artists on here. No 100 MPH limit on the damn Lightnings. Not even close. I race them all the time, and have one (a 2002 model) clocked by an officially calibrated radar/laser gun at 137 MPH (bad head wind that day). So you rumor starters are once again, full of it.

Message: I was talking with a salesman in FL a couple of weeks ago about the SRT-10. He said that they are having to mod it because it seems to spin the wheel in each gear. So they might put more weight in the bed to weigh it down. He also said that they truck would beat the Viper in the quarter mile. Saying that the truck is lighter so it runs faster. I waived the bs flag but didn't let him know too much. I think aerodynamics is a true disadvantage to the ram. And even with the hydroformed I think it will weigh more. Am I wrong? I really don't know how much the Viper weighs, but I have a good idea it's in the mid 3000's, give or take a little?

Message: viper is around 3300-3400lbs...the estimated weight of the SRT-10 is pushing 5000lbs. The truck is not faster than any late model viper. It might be comparable to a 425hp 92 model.
