Subject: Please Help with air box IP: Logged
Message: I was puting on my Intake and i cant figure out how to get the box off, i know about the bult on the top of it buy how do you get the others boults? where the rubber stuff is. Please help. Thanks? Give some direction

Message: All you have to do is give a good pull, or you can spend the time unscrewing the plastic grommets on the bottom of the air box. There is one outside and 2 inside the box on the bottom. Like I said, a good tug should pop it loose. That's all I did, and I did not break anything. There are rubber seal thingies (hehe) on the bottom that pull right through.

Message: Actually, I just used an old butter knife. It slides under those tabs and pops them off really easily.

Message: Ok, i tried the knife idea, it is hard as hell, and i dont want to break the air box, what is holding them on? any other ideas, of just go at it and rip the bitc* off. and how do oyu make sure the seal is tight as to not get shi* in my intake and mess up my engen. also, the K& N is not oliy should i oil it?

Message: Okay, try this, I got this off the website where I bought my intake. Grab the airbox in a sort of bearhug, that way you are exerting equal pressure around it, and pull it out.
Which seal were you worried about? Did you get the K&N FIPK? It seals just like the stock TB hat. Most of the others just hook up to the TB hat with rubber sleeve and clamps, same as the end of the K&N filter attaches. They come pre-oiled, so it should be okay to install.

Message: I made my air intake and the filter is used, and free, should i clean it and just start fresh. and I will try that on the box. thanks for yotur help!

Message: Disconnect the neg. battery cable. Turn your ignition to START for 20 seconds. Reconnect neg cable.....VIOLA!!
