Subject: Oil on the IAT IP: Logged
Message: I just removed my IAT and it was wet, smelled like engine oil. Did anyone notice that on their truck? Please help, I'm starting to think thatI have a lemon.

Message: It is normal. The PCV system sucks in oil vapors that gradualy collect in the intake. Unless you have a blown belly pan gasket. If you did then you have bad pinging.

Message: You won't necessarily have pinging, depends on severity of gasket leak and possibly some other variables. My son's didn't ping but did have wandering idle, 600 and surging when cold, up to 1500 when it warmed up.

Message: My idle was getting stuck every now and then at 1100 rpm. I'm taking it in to the dealer tomorrow just in case. I also had some squeaking coming out of the fan. I think that the clutch might not be engaging properly. It seems like it's not spinning as fast as it should. Thanks for the help.

Message: The "stuck" idle is probably the IAC solenoid sticking. Just spray it with some carb cleaner every few months and you will be fine. Will probably notice a better idel as well.
