I've got the Borla cat-back stainless single exhaust on my truck. Easy install, pieces match up perfectly with stock mounting, sweet sound, deep like Lesley said, and an angle cut polished intercooler tip. My truck sounds awesome now when I get on it and you can't beat the million mile warranty!

Cool, Lesley, you'll like it! Mine's seamlessly welded on the rear pipe, you really can't even tell it's been welded, excellent fabrication.

I recommend the 40665 Turbo XL,It sounds great on my 2001 QC,4.7 ,Agree with lesley very deep and not to loud, If you want LOUD ,Then I`d Recommend the 40 series flowmasters and as jason has pointed out the flow`s are not SS.

Neither of them are junk. Borla makes top of the line quality exhaust.
No one can tell you what to buy, it is personal preference. You sound like a young guy, so you would probably want LOUD. In which case one of the Dynomaxes. Me, I'm an old fart. I don't want to pīss the neighbours off, or have people laugh at me, so my Borla sounds like it means business, without drawing too much attention to me.

I'd say go for Ravin. I have a dual cat back exhaust on my 4.7. It's loud and has a very deep powerfull sound to it. I used to have a dynomax muffler on mine and took it off because it had a wimpy sound to it.

I have a Borla header, performance cat, and borla cat-back exhaust on my YJ. It's quite impressive and has held up pretty well even when wheeling. The sound is perfect, to me, not too loud, but deep and throaty. I've had it on for about 40K miles and the chambers within the muffler came loose for some reason. I called Borla, and they shipped a new muffler out to me fairly quickly. Bolted it up and no more rattle.

Service and quality, Borla is great and I would recommend them.

Jason....what dakota do you have..5.2, 5.9, 4.7,
3.9?????

different sound for different motors, no matter
what muffler you put on.

mine is LOUD, 4.7 Dynomax ultra flow race
welded muffler 3" in/out + 3" catback. The
flowmaster 40 series I took off of my dak and
gave to my brother for his 3.4L tacoma was
bustin at the seams...I wont ever buy a
flowmaster again.

you could hear a thousand slander/sob
stories about certain mufflers, the best thing
to do is throw one on....The dynomax is like
$60....not a whole lot of cash wasted there.

Jason, are you in Canada? That pricing sounds about right for up here. The Borla will cost you around $175 US, which is $279 Can. It definitely has the growl though. Not loud, but deep and growly.

My friend got rid of Flowmas and went with the Dyno.
