Message: Southern states do not allow ABS piping to be used in plumbing systems. Just use Sch 40 PVC.

Message: The Southern Plumbing Code does not allow ABS in plumbing systems for waste and vent systems. If you look at the sch40 pvc you will also see the letters dwv. Drainage, waste and vent.
But if you see sch40 pvc pipe used for pressure systems it will not have the dwv letters. They are both Polyninylchloride, PVC.
Now why you can't use ABS in the southern states, I am not sure but will find out Monday. I do know ABS is a completely different chemical makeup as far as the plastic goes. Antibutylstyrene, or something like that. I'm a retired master plumber and the regulations change all the time.

Message: for the hose that is on the factory intake, just drill a hole in the bottom of the new intake tube a little smaller than the diameter of the hose, then shove the hose in it.

Message: For the hose I found a 1/2" adapter and drilled a hole into the new intake. Then used some fiberglas type ahdesive to attach it. It turned out pretty well. I just painted it a few minutes ago. Hope to install in the morning.

Message: If you have an RV dealer close to you, check for ABS pipe there. RV's use this type of pipe for the plumbing system. I found the ABS pipe and fittings for my intake at the local RV dealer.
