Message: I couldn't believe it! I'm still hoping it isn't true, but according to the Car & Truck News website, there will not be a next generation of our beloved trucks! According to them, the chassis on which it was to be based on was lenghtened to make the Durango bigger, which would put the Dakotas too close in size to the Ram, therefore no more Dakotas......

The world only wants full size trucks.
Elvis is still alive.
Bill Clinton was the greatest president in the history of our country.
Jenna Jamison is really a man.
I believe everything I read on the internet because everything on the internet is always true.
Oh, and I got a bunch of Beach front property for sale here in Arizona......

Message: hahahaha
sucker
my beach front property is more valuable because its in Iowa
i heard from a Ram dealer that there WILL be a gen 4 and will. much liek they did in 97, make them look like a mini-ram
also how can the durango chassy and dakota be the same, a durango is shorter still than the std cab with 6 foot bed
well i know my moms ford explorer is shorter than my dakota and durangos are smaller than the explorer?
how can that be true?
and the extended cab is longer still than std cab so solution to making a larger suv would not be lengthen the chassi of the dakota but use a full size ram platform because if they want to make it bigger than it already is they should not put it on the small mid size platform because to get more length hight and width it would make more sense to put it on the larger one than try to pack it on the mid size,
ei chevy tahoe is next up from blazer and blazer is s10 platform and tahoe is full size platform
explorer is smaller and not on a full size platform , it may be on the ranger platform, but the larger expedition is off the full size platform
so if they want to go bigger with the durango they should make a new model and put it on the full size ram platform with a new redesigned 440 just because dodge needs to start making a huge v8 to keep tabs on chevy and also offer the 8.3 l v-10 and try to make it into hemi form so dodge can then not pass emisions, get horrible gas mileage, and keep their reputation
but on a lighter note i do want the new hemi to be produced and if i ever got an old body from a charger or the likes i would not find an old engine, i would merely put in one of them fancy mopar 528 CI Hemis and pray to god i dont get in trouble for driving it ont he road
and that is pretty much what i think dodge needs to do
and wasnt dodge working on an SUV a while back bigger yet than the excursion?

Message: Hey Duner, nice sarcasm! Unfortunately, I'm not as naive as you seem to think I am. Trust me, I do not want them to stop production on the truck any more than you do, however, I've been following that website for about a year and a half now and they always get the news first and seem to get it right. BTW: they are specialized in DC products. So, hopefully they are wrong this time, but experience shows otherwise.

Message: Sorry Chris... that wasn't really directed at you. Car & Truck News might have the inside scoop on the current plan.... but things are always subject to change. Nothing is ever written in stone. All it takes is for DC management to make a decision in a single meeting, and everything that websites are reporting about is thrown out the window.

Oh, and Duner, you've never been to Lake Havasu where you CAN sit on a beach and watch high school and college students from LA do stupid things on boats. (I moved my grandma from there in October/September, and had to pull stuff from an attic)

Message: I've got it right here in front of me:
The new concept truck "Dodge M80" is built on the same platform as the Dakota and is powered by a new 3.7L V-6. "The Detonator Yellow truck could very well be giving hints as to what's to come from Dodge - possibly clues to the next Dakota, or mabey an all-new entry level pickup."
-Sport Truck mag (may 2002)
lets hope it's gonna be a new truck to Dodge's line, or I just might turn my eyes on the Ram SRT-10 that's supposed to be coming out soon.

Message: another mini ram! yeah, I personally like the
new rams...they are just too big, if the GenIV
follows its predecesors, it will surely be a
good looking truck. Too bad it will make mine
look like yesturdays news.
