Message: i just got back from the local dragstrip with my 96 dakota 2.5l 4cyl. i did not have a very good run. i have the truck about 6 months i have no tac. so i dont know what rpm to launch at. i tried at about 3000 and it seemed to do okay but im not to happy about the time my fastest time of the night was an 11.73 @57.57mph the only mod. i have is a 40 seris flowmaster and tracktion bars. i ran with about 23 psi in the rear. if you know what i can do to get that thang faster without running it in to a brick wall and getting another please tell me.

Message: Hey!! I have a 95 RC Sport 2.5L 5 Speed I also have the 40 Series on mine, but I disconnect it when race. My best 1/8 is 11.792 @ 55.XX mph. I do not have traction bars and I did not lower my air pressure either.
I don't have a tach either so what I do is just bring the rpm up off idle but not too high and then dump the clutch. When done correct I get just a hair of spin and no bogging.
Have fun with your truck!

Message: ever wonder why they put tachs in the auto's but not the standards?
dave... connect that muffler, it will actually help out. if you are gonna run it disconnected you might as well take it off and save some weight.
