Subject: squealing ratchety noise IP: Logged
Message: I have this noise from what sounds to be like squealing ratchety noise from the power steering pump. My ride is a 98 2.5L cc Dak. Has anybody had this problem or heard of anyone else having it, or has anyone replaced anything else deceptively from this noise? Any info would help, I am trying to head this off before something goes wrong!

Message: Do you live in a cold area? I live in Ohio and when I start my Dak when its cold outside (if it's sat for a day or so), the belt tends to squeal a little. I dont know if I need belt dresing on it or what, but it seems to go away after the engine and belts warm up.

Message: Hey Dan, thanks for the tip, but I live in the South, so it doesnt get that cold. Afew of my buds said the bearings in the pullies, or the bearing in the pump itself. Still not 100% sure yet though. Well keep you informed.
