Message: Jet II is crap for 317.00. ASE is supposedly good though I haven't seen any dyno sheets from ASE. The ASE chip costs 349.00 and you have to send your PCM to them. From the way it looks they have about a 72 hour turn around. Thats from the time it leaves your house. ASE also gets rid of the speed limiter. Check out their web page for details asechips.com

Message: The ASE chip looks pretty sweet. Is this cheaper than a Mike Leach, or KRC's?
Would anyone be interested (if possible) on group buy/flash from ASE?

Message: I think all the other choices cost around 400.00 and have a longer turn around because they are rerprogrammings. ASE is a chip installation. Not as complex. I wouldn't mind having one but would rather have something that I could install my self. I don't have the time to send my PCM out for even a few days.

Message: I myself have a jet chip and although it helped some i wasnt all that happy with it. I have found a new module which is suppose to be really sweet. It cost about 400 dollars but if it has the performance gains that its stating(which most dont) then it is well worth it. My friend bought one for his Chevrolet Tahoe after I told him about it and it helped a whole lot. Especially in the shifting. The good thing about the module is you can add a chip after it also. You can read more about it at www.truckperformance.com. Its under computer modules. When I get one I'll let everyone know how it does on Dakotas.

Message: Hello,
I'm sorry, I meant to put the name of the module on my last post. It's called Venom Control Module 400. If you follow this link then it will be third link to click on. It says Venom control Module. I'm not sure if they offer it for V-6's or exactly what all years they offer it for but I'm almost sure that they offer it for almost everything.

Message: Okay i just did some research, which i guess i couldve done before, but better late than never. I have found the link to the Venom web site and have included it. Also I meanst to mention for more info that my friends unit went in about as easy as anything ive ever installed. We put it in in about 25 mins. It looks very nice to. Nothing cheap about it. If you havent already seen it, check out their nitrous set up too. It can be found on truckperformance.com or this web site. Its the best nitrous setup ive ever seen.

Message: I installed a jet I and I immediately saw a big
improvement in the second gear shift and power
curves. The installation was five minutes. you have to adjust several things to get the right
performance. change the air (K&N) change the
throttle body, fix the exhaust headers and cat back (saves warranty). then use premium gas.
remember his is a truck not a corvette. I am satisfied with my set up. he jet I was about 200
and works. without a dyno I cant tell the actual
gain.

Message: phil, thats great you got performance out of the JET. But were you refering to me to do all those other upgrades? And you stated that this was a truck not a corvette. We'll phil you can get these trucks to perform better than corvettes. I have out run a corvette in the 1/8 mile before. I still had my stock tires on but i had the same performance upgrades that i have now. So just cause you dont want to do certain upgrades to your truck phil dont mean you have to downplay the performance you can get out of one of these Dakotas.
