Subject: rear gears IP: Logged
Message: i just figured out i have 8.25 rear axile gears any body know how much some 3.92 gears cost and are the ones from chrystler wort a dam as far as problems, also are they hard to change

Message: The Dodge gears are strong but if you are going to replace them go with a "Richmond" set . If you dond have a LS go with a a "Dana" trac lock ,the same as stock.If you have a 3.55 now you might want to go to a 4.10 , a 4.30 or a 4.56 might be a bit high. Dodge made this rear end easy to set-up ,get a shop manual and a one $20 special tool ,(to turn the adjusters to set backlash and preload berings ) and your good to go.

Message: While you're down there, put some Red Line Synth. in there! This summer I've been considering some 4.11s from my 3.92s, but my RPM is already kinda high.
