Message: There are several different "chips" for the 20021 5.9.
Are you talking about the ECM (Electronic control module) AKA computer?

Message: Mopar does not (and supposedly will never) offer a PCM for 2001-2002 models. JetChip makes an add-on chip but I've heard mixed results about this one, and it is very basic for performance only. ASE and a couple of other companies will take your own PCM and re-program it, but expect to be without your truck for a few days to ship it back and forth, and shell out from $350-600 for the procedure. Nobody's been able to make a re-program as good as the original Mopar PCM's though... I'm still waiting before dumping that sort of money into a program.

Message: Don't worry about the chip, you can spend the same amount of money on other things to make it quick. The chips basically just advance your timing, richen up the mixture, and alter shift points.
IAT, K&N, Plugs, 180, Muffler, shift kit are some options you should consider first, then worry about the next step.

Message: yeah get the 180stat, the plugs, you gotta have the exaust. then for more small stuff get some MSD 8.5mm wires, adjust your TPS (if its off), if you have an intake, rip out the plactic piece restricting airflow next to the radiator on the passenger side. thats all i can think of for budget mods, theres prolly a ton more, but if you got the money just get every bolt-on, a supercharger, 200 shot of nitrous and a stack of slicks.

Message: one more thing, you should take off the bug deflector, it looks silly, it makes your paint fade unevenly, and it adds 7 seconds to your 1/4
