I am pretty close to assembling a cold air intake for my Gen II V8 Dak. I haven't yet purchased the materials except for the entire air box assembly from a 1999 Dak with a 5.2L.

Here is a list of materials that I've come up with :
- air hat and accordian tube hose from a 1997 and up Dak; make sure it comes from the 3.9, 5.2, and 5.9 family of engines. It should all fit on a Gen II Dak.
- after reading everybody's experience on this board with PVC/ABS piping, I have decided to go with a 3 inch exhaust pipe. You'll need two pieces (length undetermined as I've yet to construct this thing).
- a Fernco/Plumquik elbow.
- K&N cone filter, 4 inch length and 3 inch inside diameter.

Here is my plan of attack (it is somewhat based on the air raid cold air intake) :
- attach the air hat to your TB
- attach the accordian tube to the air hat.
- on the open end of the accordian tube, attach a very short piece of exhaust pipe.
- then attach the Fernco elbow.
- attach another piece of exhaust pipe.
- then attach the K&N cone filter.

Unlike the Gen III Daks, we can't extend our cone filter right to the front because I've noticed on Gen II Daks on the front passenger side (front right hand side headlight), there is a black round canister (fuel return cell ??) that takes up quite abit of space, so you will have to shorten the length of the pipe that is in between the K&N cone filter and the Fernco elbow.
