Message: Check this out(read the Claus at the bottom), sounds like they could have some problems to work out with all of the fancy stuff it has. It already had one delay with the camshaft bearings failing due to block and head setup. Forget about getting a computer upgrade on it, or throwing on a Supercharger or Twin Turbo setup that Speedtweaks is working on. Out of the Box the 5.7L will rule. How reliable, we don't know. But the Old 5.9L will still be able to outrun the 5.7L in the long run. Sounds like a TT5.9L could be making over 400hp. Food for thought.
I never like the idea of uneven wear on internal parts.
"all-aluminum 5.7-L pushrod V8 engine with hemispherical combustion chambers and two spark plugs per cylinder. Engine fuel efficiency and emissions are enhanced by automatic deactivation of four of the eight cylinders during highway driving and deceleration. A hydraulically shifted lost-motion feature deactivates the valves while the motor management system interrupts ignition and fuel supply to the cylinders."

Message: Yeah but think about this, if you add just one mod...a SC or TT on the 5.7 Hemi your well past the 400HP mark...lots of mods on the 5.9 getting it up to 400HP.

Message: Not really.I've seen a guy with an R/T that had a Flowmaster 3" true dual setup, K&N GenII, and a Comp Cams camshaft that pulled 375 on the dyno and that's not bs.

Message: And which engine management system would you be using for hotrodding the hemi since it's now a "drive by wire" system? You certainly can't get inside the factory controller(which is all new and unlike the 5.9 controller, btw).
Stand alone engine mangement?? Who has one that interfaces with the drive by wire? The writing is on the wall, boys, DC is making it extremely difficult to hotrod these things now.
