Message: It will be expencive. At the parts counter the 426 crate which is the smallest of the hemi crates is worth $9999.00 dollars. Nice of them not to make it 10000.00 chrysler is always thinking. As for making it fit it might be a bit tight and you might need a taller hood because the heme is a tall engine. But man would you be making a statement. You would be the ultimate sleeper. GOOD LUCK

Message: hot rod mag put a 528 hemi in a 2000 quadcab. they also converted it over to fuel injection, put a 727 torque flight in it from summit racing, changed the exhaust, and probably a million other things. the stock hood fit on it good.
that engine alone costs like $15000 plus the tranny that would handle the power and labor that would cost like $30000
ps i hope you dont live in california (it wont pass smog)

Message: Hay man I am working on a big block convert my self. You can get a kit from s.m.r. that mates the big block to the stock trans. They have a hemi dakota with stock trans with just a shift kit and it lives.
Hemi big bucks!! I went with a dodge 400 c.i. truck engine. Not the 440. 400 is 1.5" narower and 1.5" shorter. Bored .030 over and stroked to 4.15" = 496 c.i. in the same block. Mopar performance did this build up and it made 545 hp. at 5500 rpms. 560 ft#s of torque from idle.
Better than the V10 viper.
Need custom motor mounts and one inch out of the 1991 K frame. Much cheaper way to go.

Message: So far about $3000 Can. that is the truck and all the parts. There is a lot of engine shop work to be done. Paint and so on. That is the final plan there and it will be about one more year at least to finish with only working on the weekends.
