Message: The PCM advances the timming. The increased load from towing may cause detonition.

Message: I have a Mopar PCM in my 2500 Ram and I regularly tow up to 8000 lbs. I haven't had any problems with towing...just smiles. I run 89 or 93 and I have a 180 degree-stat.

Message: Similar to Joseph, I am pulling over 3000# with my '99 Dakota. Performance PCM with 180 T-stat & 93 octane. No detonation.

Message: Correct...you should have no problem towing that. MAKE SURE YOU SWAP THE THERMOSTAT TO A 180 DEGREE ONE!!! I cannot say this enough. I ran mine with the stock 195 one and got detonation with 93 octane gas! Good luck!
