Subject: HOW??? IP: Logged
Message: How do I get my pre-Magnum V8 up to 200+HP? Ever since I found out my 91 V8 Dakota CC 2wd is Magnumless I've been bummed. It runs really well and in my opinion is quite quick, but I'd like to get more ponies out of it. Much apreciated.Thanx,
Steph.

Message: Where do we start? How much $ you got? Air filter, throttle body mods (or is it carb?), intake manifold, head work or new ones, bigger bump stick, headers, catback, blower, nitrous, that should do it. Oh yeah! Save a few $ for sticky tires. You gonna' need them with those mods.

Message: It's got the TB on it. I guess for starters I want to do the filter the throttle body and catback. How much can I expect to pay for a bigger TB? And for a catback do I need a new cat or can I run duals off the one I've got now?(just put it on in the summer).
Thanks for any help.
Steph.

Message: Dont waste your time or money on a TBI for it.
Get the Mopar Perf. ignition conversion kit [ecu] and go 4bbl. You will have a whole world of cheap old school parts at your disposal after that [IE: Edelbrock aluminium heads, Mopar Hyd cams etc.] FYI, I have built a couple of 340's [to much success] and you have close to the potential of a 340 because your block is based on the older block style. Good luck, dont get discouraged listening to Magnum owners.

Message: Faz Dak has a point if you don't have inspection issues to deal with.
Otherwise, I think the TB was $200 plus core from Mr. Fastman. Don't expect much from the TB mod. It will only help you later on when you take your project a little farther. If you just replaced your cat then put a 3 in. pipe to a single in/dual out muffler of your choice (Super Turbo by Dynomax, Flowmaster, etc.) and run dual tailpipes of the 2.25 or 2.5 in.
