Well I just got through talking to Mike Leach and he said the performance PCM's are not only going to be not available but he said he has no base programs and probably won't be getting any in the future and won't be able to reflash them. It's starting to get really annoying when your in a race and your beating the person then you hit the rev limiter and your engine shuts down. Hope someone figures out something to do for the PCM's.

I just got my psm reflashed and kenne-bell couldn't/wouldn't remove my speed limiter.
I have a 2000 but there was a spot to check for a 2001 on the pcm order form.

Is it the high performance PCM or just a stock PCM?

Weird in Canada you can still buy the Mopar PCM for the 4.7L but only for the 4x2 trucks, but you can get it for the 4x4 durangos. WHy is that???

Is the speed limiter your ONLY concern?

There are several folks that have found a way around that niggling problem...

As for HiPo PCMs for the 4.7L V8 hemi. I see that this months "Sport Truck" magizine has ads for the "optimizer II" from KennBell for this engine.

The ad says that KenneBell has tested the "optimizer II" on the 4.7L for 4 years and has tweaked it for maximum performance.

$349 including overnight shipping

I just filled out my Kenne Bell order form to have my PCM reflashed and there was a spot on there to have the rev limiter and speed limiter taken off, you have to sign a waver.
Maybe KB just started doing it? I'm not sure, you may want to call them.

(2001kota) I have heard that turning the key to the "start" position overrides the speed limiter.

The starter does not actually "enguage"...
With an auto tranny, it only engauges in P or N
With manual tranny, it only engauges when clutch pushed.

I have never tried it myself... not enough straight road in Vermont to get up over 102MPH ;-)

There are some folks on the DML website that claim to have bypassed the speedlimiter in some "less stressful" way... not sure what they did.
