Subject: Which Flomaster sounds best? IP: Logged
Message: I am looking to get a Flowmaster however there are many people who seem to think the 40 series Delta Flow is better and then there are many who think the 50 series Delta Flow is better. I would like to know from people who have had experience with these two. I would like to get a nice rumble yet not loud and ricey.

Message: I use the 50 series delta flow on my 4.7 and i love it, sounds sweet, i get compliments all the time, perfect tone. the 40 series is louder, this will wake your neighbors up if you go to work early and i believe you get a drone sound in the cab during cruise speed, the 50 doesnt drone,. Can purchase the flowmaster from summitracing.com for 80.00

Message: Today I put the poor man's catback on. This consisted of the stock stainless steel(not 304 quality)exhaust and a flowmaster 40 series delta flow. It is noticeable in the cab but not unplesant. It has a low rumble outside and sounds great when you step on it. I couldn't float the bill for the MBRP system I want right now so I've installed this and am very pleased. The muffler was a 942541 2 1/2" single in and single out. I bought it for 59.50 including shipping from albertexhaustman@aol.com. He has a warehouse in Texas with flowmaster stock. I paid the local muffler dude 30 bucks to install it. My ride is a 2001 motorsports edition quad cab dak with the 5.9.

Message: "Sounds best" is very subjective. Go to flowmaster.com and they have sound samples you can click on to hear the various models. I personally prefer the 70 model which has a more "mellow" sound and only about 50% louder than the OEM.

Message: I have a cuda 440, with a stout 440 wedge engine and I have 3 inch pipe with dual dynomax 3 in 3 out super turbo nascar approved mufflers its has a great sound but its not loud at full throttle or cruising above 1500 rpm, how much better would the big block series flomaster sound on my engine, it has 10:1 kb pistons and modified 906 mp heads six pack rods a 230 @50 comp cam and a 1000 cfm carter atop a performer rpm intake and factory high output six pack exhaust manifolds with a stock valve train, I had the car dyno tested with 488 hp at the flywheel and 520 ft/lbs torgue.
