Message: I found a site that still sells them for $267.99 and $60.99 for the intall kit. I guess I'll better order it and see if the honor that price. Unless they don't know about Mopar increasing the price.

Message: Hey guys -
I installed the M1 2bbl last weekend (woo, lots of fun installing). Anyways, i got mine for $310 shipped from Randy Pile, but i'm pretty sure he's all out of them now (at that price).
I've got a page set-up with some installation pictures. It's located at http://users.conwaycorp.net/tcador/dakota/m1install.html
Lets just say i'm VERY VERY happy with it. It pulls soo much harder all the way through the power range. I also experience no loss in low-end power...if anything i'd venture to say i gained some. The throttle response is better and it's just an all-around more fun truck to drive now.
100% recommended by me.
Travis

Some of the guys over on moparchat were talking about the 4bbl, they didn't like it, said it killed the lower end.

Message: Yeah, this is the Travis from MoparChat, and the seller of your special "R/T" TB :).
I really took my time on the install, so it took the better part of a day, but that included many breaks, pictures, etc.
Anyways, i've got the Mopar PCM, IAT adjuster, 3923 autolite plugs, ported tb, K&N Gen II, and 180 degree thermostat.
I just can't keep my foot out of it now b/c i enjoy the added power so much! Seriously though, it'll spin all the way through 2nd and i actually got a 3rd gear scratch the other day. Granted my tires aren't in the best shape, but still, for a stock tranny that's not bad :).

Message: Actually, the reason for the price increase is due to the new contract with the outside builder of the M1 manifolds. They underbid on the first run and were tied into the price until the contract ran out.
While the Hughes manifolds do work (somewhat better than stock), there is no substitute for the M1.
Jegs, Summit, PAW, and anyone else who sells the M1 will be right about the same price as Marty.
