Message: I have a 2000 dak 4.7 4x4 club cab, my dad has a 98 2 wheel drive. At around 20000 miles his disks warped. I have heard this is a common problem for daks of all years, but my 89 had 120,000 k on it and I never had a problem with that, and I had a lot of intown driving on it, a lot of stop and go.Has anyone here had this problem, and if so what brand of disks did you replace the o.e.m disks with? I only have 3000 k on mine so I hope I wont have to worry tor a while, but I would like to help out my dad. thanks

Message: 20K is pretty good. Others have fared worse. If CC/DC will R&R under warranty I would do that until the warranty expires. Once that happens I would opt to go with Powerslot rotors and Raybestos semi-metallic pads. Cost for parts is ~$240. Can't beat 'em.

Message: I would personaly go with Raybestos Rotors. They are alot thiker then OEM rotors. Take the raybestos pads with it!

Message: Its not only Dakota's with this problem. Its all cars, the manufacturers are cutting any corners they can to make the vehicles lighter, so they are actually making them thinner. Its getting to the point now where they cant even be turned. I had the same problem with a chevrolet Beretta Z-26. I found out from the mechanic at this time
