Subject: Faster on the Street? IP: Logged
Message: OK, I know my truck isn't the fastest by any means but it does seem that when I race stop light to stop-light or 0mph to 50mph, I am alot faster than when at the track. Now I know it isnt as far and things are going to be closer, but it seems that cars that can beat me at the track, I can beat on the street? Why is this?

Message: you might be getting better traction on the street.
it also might just seem like you are going faster on the street, because of rough roads and little things like signs passing you by at a fast rate.
have you raced the same car on the street and strip?

Message: I have raced my friends car(s) on the street and know what they run at the track, I can hang with them and even beat some of them on the street while at the track I loose big time. I know I get a little better traction on the street, and I am not jugging it on how fast it feels or looks, but how the outcome of the race turns out.

Message: It goes both ways. My friend has a civic with an Integra GS-R motor in it. He has run a best of 15.0 at the track, yet on the street, he left me 3 out of 3 times. At the track, he can't launch it without bogging or spinning because he has lowered rice. Suspension is way to stiff for drag racing. I drive a '01 R/T. Stock I ran 15.0 at the track. When he left me, I had headers, 2bbl M1, K&N Gen 2, F&B billet TB, full 3" exhaust. When he left me, the bottle was closed;) I run low to mid 13's now.
