was running a 15.5 w/out the intake. Since I've put on the intake, I can't seem to launch w/out too much wheel spin. I have some Lakewood traction bars, and it really hooks up when they are on, but I've never run the 1/4 w/the bars on. They hang too low, so I took them off for now. I'm hoping I'm in the low-low 15's,,especially with the cooler weather!

The Michelins don't look as nice or corner as well as Nittos or other "performance" tires, but they are super smooth at any speed. They work pretty well in the rain also.... like that's much of a concern here in AZ. hahaha
At the track I use ET Streets that are 28x11.5x15s on my original stock wheels.

My PCM was reprogrammed by Z-Industries. They do the programming for Lingenfelter as well as the high-dollar Viper crowd. They no longer want to offer the programming for the Dodge trucks. Leach industries has a nearly identical program they use for the 4.7s. It's pricey but worth the cost/effort.

I read the MoparChat thread, but they won't let me respond there yet. Must not be activated yet.
I havae the same truck (3.55 rear). I noticed the same power loss from the Dynomax Cat back Kit. I added the 70mm TB with the stock PCM and stock exhaust and it was a true KICK in the A$$!! The truck used to lay down at 4000 and just die at 4700, so shifting at 5000 seemed useless. The TB let it pull all the way to 5000 before it gave out. I have yet to get to a track to find out the gain (and I've never put it on a dyno), but it felt waaaay stronger from 2000 to 5000. This was with a Volant Intake tube and their version of the cotton gauze filter.
When I added the Dynomax kit, it won't make power til 3000, and then it still gives up at 5000. Their kit has a 3" length of pipe from the cat to the front of the muffler. I was considering replacing that with some 2.5" pipe like the stock piece. Should I get the 3" cat and leave the 3" pipe all the way back? I don't have pre-cats. I don't want the power band up at 3000, either. I gotta drive to work in stop & go traffic. Guess I'll be "Leaching" my PCM soon, too.

Message: Hmmm, if you are wanting to keep the stock cat than the 2.5" pipe between the cat and the muffler might give you the low end power back. But changing out the entire section between the Y pipe and the muffler with all 3" (including the cat) will make the truck sing! Or at least mine did with the PCM. I'm not sure how mine would act without the PCM under those conditions. I do know that the PCM is necessary to make the higher rpm power above 5000 rpm.
I think the whole system has to work together for any really good gains. Once you get the intake balanced with the exhaust, and the PCM will allow it.... the thing really performs well. I just didn't like the space between the performance with just a PCM with stock exhaust and when I was trying things with the exhaust and the intake. For a while there I was wishing I would have just left everything alone! hehehe

Message: That's what I'm going thru right now. Atlanta Dragway is closed til March and I never got an E.T. to measure the gains from the 70mm TB with the stock exhaust. I don't want to flash the PCM before I get a baseline with the DynoMax and the 70mmTB. Now I'm driving around in a rumbly slug until March. Maybe it's not a slug, but it sure takes a while before it starts pushing me back in the seat.
Maybe I need to find a junkyard PCM so I've got two like you!!! Then i can swap PCM's to get the baseline, right? HeeHee....
Did the dealer give you any crap about having to flash your "other" PCM with the VIN and mileage? Can I just take it in while it's not installed in the truck?

I'm going to look thru the junkyards. If I find nothing there, then I've got to decide whether to spend $450 at leach and $150 at Enterprise Rent-A-Car (downtime sucks a$$) or just spend $400 at Dodge parts (new PCM) and $450 at Leach.

Message: Hey Alex, I was looking at your times and thinking that you should be running .3 to .5 sec faster in the 1/4. I know you have the cc with a 3.55, but I think you got more speed in that there truck. Now I've never been to the strip but I've pulled about a hundred G-tech runs this fall. For me I've had to launch between 1100 and 1300 cuz I've got an open diff. its been a learning experience getting the pedal to the floor. Shifting at 5100-5200 will get you the best results. Because you got yourself a 5-speed you'll have a problem getting really consistant times. But once you got it zeroed in its a glorious thing. To be honest the single thing that has improved my performance has been the g-tech my first run was 16.3 later that night ran a 15.12 stock- so go figure.

Message: Q:
I've studied on that a long time and I've only come up with a few answers. Chris Lambert (Dakota USA) had his blue clubcab and his configuration was the closest truck to mine. He ran 14.9~ when his was stock. I was puzzled and tried to figure out why I was stuck at 15.30's.... He's in Virginia at almost sea level. More air. More oxygen. I'm in Atlanta where Atlanta Dragway is at 1100' above sea level and damn near HOT all summer long. Prolly nothing like Duner running at Phoenix in 100 degree heat (although it's dry heat) at 3000 ft above sea level. It's also very humid in ATL, and if there's two things that will kill a Dodge Magnum motor, it's heat and humidity.
I also have a third problem. #3(a) is that my best 60' time is a 2.24 which is suck-suck-suck a$$. I should be at 2.0 and there's your two tenths. #3 (b) is that, with me (300 lbs), the truck weighs in at 4150 with almost NO gasoline in the tank. Take the spare off and there you are at 4100. But the weight is all off the REAR of the truck. No traction, but still a heavy truck.
So, I have been shifting at 5000 and I can generally keep my E.T.'s (however slow they are) within .05 of each other on any given day. Six years of bracket racing a 5-spd also helps in the consistency dept.
Now that I have some better tires (Firehawk ss20's instead of the bald stockers), and the Lakewoods are dialed all the way in, I expect to pick up the 60' times a bit more. I also have the new 70mm TB and a Dynomax cat-back kit in place. I've been testing it on the urban interstates in ATL, and it feels like it's still making power up to about 5500. I am trying to get to Savannah, GA for a weekend on their 1/8th mile (sea level) since Atlanta Dragway closes in Nov and won't re-open til March. The 1/8th mi times should give me some hope for March. I'll let ya'll know.

Yep, i shoulda bought your Hoosiers, but until I can beef up the diff or install a complete 8.75" rear, I figure it's just messin with fate. Now, if I can get into the 14's AND keep my crappy 2.30 short time, then we'll KNOW it's a fast truck, right?
