Message:
Does anybody know how to remove the fan and clutch assembly on a 5.2. I have tried to tighten up the belt tensioner, but the pully still spins freely. Is there a special tool or procedure to remove this. The manual states that there is a special tool, but does not give the name. I am trying to remove this to install my black magic elctric fan. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I use an air chisel and just shock the nut with the chisel and it'll come right off.

Take a 1 7/16" wrech to the big nut and leave the belt on to help hold it into place. Like jjj said sometimes it need a shock to remove the nut. If you do not have access to the air chisel take a hammer and rap on the wrench.

Remove two bolt from the waterpump pully. just don't remove two in a row. Then you can use a spanner wrench. I didnt have one, so I used the largest allen key I could fit in there and hold it againts the next bolt.
