Message: Can anyone tell me why the 2000 5.9L makes peak horse power at 4400rpms Vs. 4000rpms peak for the 2001 5.9L?
Seems the 4.7L didn't have there peak power lowered.
I know both 2001 4.7L & 5.9L lost 5hp vs the 2000

Message: Are you looking at the quad-cab numbers? I think they are a little less then the CC and RC.

Message: Nope I have a RC R/T, sticker said, 245@4000rpms
All 5.9L now peak at 245hp@4000rpms vs the R/T 250hp@4400 of last years.
*Quad Cab models with Federal Emissions.
†245 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque on Quad Cab models.
†230 horsepower on Quad Cab California vehicles and all regular cab and Club Cab models.
Is it a computer deal or does the pre-cats choke the exhaust enough to peak 400rpm lower than last years 2000's?

Message: That sounds more like the difference in cat-back exhaust systems. The R/T has a larger pipe and would allow for slightly more torque at a higher rpm - which equates to hp.
