Message: Just curious, more on a stock 4.7, with 3.55 gears what would the 0 to 60 time be? Does being a 2wd compared to a 4x4 make that much of a difference? And lastly on modified 4.7's what would the time be, also with 3.55's? I know all times will be different depending on what mods, weather etc, just want a general idea. Thanks,

Message: Well, I have a 01 4.7 Quad Cab (QC) w/ 3:55's; auto, and with SOME mods, autolite 3923's; flowmaster exhaust 40 series; IAT adjuster; also did a TPS adjustment, go to speedtweaks.net for info, and how to do this (PS. its free). Mine is set at .89 now, was at .52. Oh I also have an 70mm (F&B) TB, from speedtweaks. Its a Christmas present, (which my girl got me), and she let me put it on for a 1/2 day, and man I tell you what, you WILL feel a difference, and you want to hear something even better, that was only for a 1/2 day, you dont realy start getting the full effect until almost 200 miles, so my opinion is its worth the $$$ ($400.00) that is. But anyways my 0 - 60 was like 2.3 average, best was like a 2.1, or some where in that time, and those times where without the TB, I dont have any time with it yet. sorry

Message: Here's something to give u an idea.... Motortrend got a qc 4.7 auto to hit it in 7.4. Not bad, especially for an auto. I have to hand it to dodge for making such a fast truck. To give you an idea of how fast that is, the audi tt does it in 7. Pretty impressive even though the tt is really just a piece of sh*%. It also has the same weight distribution of our dakotas. I have a 4x4 and know it's slowed down from the weight but am not sure how much.

but yeah, motor trend did get that QC 4.7 auto to do 7.4 and 15.8 in the quarter. They never said what rear axle ratio it had though.

Message: Hey SuperDak,
I got my 01 QC without the 3.92's down to 7.07. I have the 3923's, po-boy intake, 70mm throttle body, jet stage II, dynomax superturbo dual exhaust, and the Iat adjuster. That is the best time. Averages around 7.1-7.2. Maybe a little faster if I had the 3.92 gears. You're right though a whole lot of fun for a heavy truck!

Message: You said it all SMITTY2. Oh and by the way, how is the 70mm TB doing, and I just remembered, do you have a 4" intake tube?
PS. Hardbody, a 70mm TB is a great mod for the 4.7 along with a 4" intake.

Message: I'm sure the 70mm Tb is a good mod, but what does it do to the mileage when your not getting on it? I really don't know what Not getting on it is since I haven't driven slow since I traded in my 9 MPG nissan V6!! I love my V8!! I'm in the process of making my own air intake, I used 3" but I'm looking into re doing it using a metal pipe, just have to order the K+N filter for it now. Is the 70mm an inch bigger than my 68mm stock tb? by bigger I mean that it uses a 4" intake? I appreciate everyone's help and guidance on these subjects since I'm so new to the dakota, thanks again

Message: Well my gas mileage hovers right at 22MPG on highway trips. In town driving like a madman I get around 16.5 to 17. That is almost full throttle at every light...well up to the speed limit. The Jet chip actually gains me around two mpg.
