I just bought a 92 Dakota with a 5.2L and a supercharger. I really wasn't looking for a supercharger, but it was on there. I am wondering if it affects my gas mileage at all and if it is hard on the motor, with the increased torque and such. I could either leave it on there or convert back to stock and sell it I guess. Any input for why I should keep it on or take it off would be helpful.

hey jerry t, your gas millage will depend on the pressure of you right foot. streeses and straines will also depend on your driving style. if you drive your new aqisition like a man and not like a punk ass b---- in a 5.0 your truck should take good care of you also.

I would have never bought a used truck w/ a supercharger cuz you know that the person that drove it rodded the hell out of it and U might notice things going wrong w/ it after U drive it cuz of how the last guy drove it. U know he didn't just take it out for sunday drives in the neighborhood. Makes you wonder if he fixed it up just enough to sell it. I would keep it on until it goes out or something but I would also keep a close eye on everything else and make sure little things don't go wrong.

I don't know what brand it is. I also have no idea what it is worth. do you? I plan on driving it with a light foot, but when I'm towing my trailer up the pass, I'm going to need the extra power. If I'm not going to rod it, why should I assume that someone else did? What if I bought it from a 75 year old man for a good price, who was using it to tow a reasonably sized trailer? Just cause you have the NeedForSpeed doesn't mean everyone does.
