Message: Ok I've been watching posts here for a while and want to just get some things straight before I go buying stuff.I drive a 99 4x4 318 3.92LSD Auto.I run 93 octane already.
Plugs, get the Autolite 3923's
Thermostat, get a 180degree
Ok I have one of those Jet chips that plug into the CPU. This came off of a 360 Durango. What else do I need to do before putting the chip in.

Message: Nothing, just reset the PCM after installing it. You do that by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and turning the key to the on position for like 30 seconds. Then wait and enjoy your newfound thrust ability.

Message: Yes you would. Anytime you do an engine upgrade (cold air intake, chips, etc.) or remove them, you need to reset the PCM.

Message: The jetchip from the durango may not be compatible to the 318 motor. I know for a fact the part # is different. Go to the jet chip web-site.

Message: Just to the 'on' position for 15 secs min(I go 1 min). The same position as when all your gagues light up. Of course they won't with the battery removed. It drains the memory in the PCM. Of course the PCM will 'learn' anything new your add to it, but it is faster if you reset after any changes. The PCM looks for everything and doesn't assume everything is the same as before.
