Message: I was thinking it is time for a list your mods thread again. There have been alot of new people and alot of changes made to the trucks here lately. Only this time let us know what mod you thought was the best. If you have any dyno or track times all the better.
2001 4.7 RC 5sp 2wd 3.92
Mods:
IAT adjuster
K&N air filter
Flowmaster cat back 3" tail pipe
ported stock throttle body
removed 90 in air box, all baffles, and flap on right side of rad
TPS put from .52 v to .76v
I felt the home ported throttle body with the K&N were the best so far mainly because it only cost $60 Cdn and it was a decent kick in the a$$.

Message: Hi,
Mods, not many on my '00 CC, 4.7, Auto, 3.55 LSD.
I installed a flowmaster 50 SUV series, 3 1/2 in and duals 2 1/2 out. I knew it was going to hurt the bottom end (spinning tires) I felt it might help the small C.I. engine mid range, and it did. It really comes alive at bout 3K RPM.I gained bout 1/2 MPG with that addition, combination city and freeway.
The other mod, was to make a Fernco intake system, and left the stock filter box, with the stock filter. That helped the most! Much more power and mileage went up , freeway is bout 20+ and averages 18+ around town, and that is with AC running.
I want to add a PCM but with everything I have read here and magazines, nothing really helps.
And when I find a K&N filter for the stock airbox, I will buy it!
And I want to tell you guys and gals, I have learned a bunch bout the 4.7's here! Thanks
And above all else, DRIVE SMART.

180 Jet thermostat
Accel coil
Accel cap & rotor
MSD SuperConductor wires
Gibson Superflow muffler
Flap by radiator removed
Intense Performance 7-inch Powerstack cone filter

K&N and the IAT Adjuster made the biggest power improvements; SuperConductor wires made a big mileage jump. The rest, put together, add power and mileage as well. Looking forward to a Fastman TB, electric fan and 1.7 Crower roller rockers!
