Ever since I cut off my muffler to make strait pipe on my 93 5.2 Dakota, I lost some bottom end and gas mileage is horrible. I see all tha adds for muffler in Summit and they all offer less back pressure. Isnt backpressure what I need? I also used the search forum to see what everyone said about their mufflers and alot of folks complain about losing low end torque. So how do I know what muffler will give me low end and improve mileage while still sounding right? Until I get more cash, all I am looking for is just the muffler(no pipe) so I can weld it to the existing 16" of pipe that comes off the cat. Also, how do I know what size to order. Do I order the muffler with the same size inlet/oulet as the existing pipes inside or outside diameter? Pleae, I need help fast! Thanks

Andrew, you have a gen II Dak, right? Why don't you ask the same question over on the dakota board at moparchat.com, there are more gen II guys over there who do all their own work and know a lot. I know that there are so many variables - what you have done intake & TB wise, engine size etc. Maybe someone knows what would be a good choice for your use.

97 3.9 V6 Sport Club Cab. Black. Auto 3.55
Quick D Intake, JBA Stainless headers
Autolite 3923s with Borg Warner Wires
Awaiting Installation: Borla catback, V8 R/T TB
