Message: The plug app. for the 99 w/ 5.2 is 5224 and I cant run the 3293 but you can use them for the year 00 w/5.2 or the 4.7!!! I dont know why they did that???? This info is right out of this years AUTOLIGHT APPLICATION BOOK. There was a defenit difference in plug length between the two #'s . Anyone else run into this problem!!!????

Message: Maybe you should look at the Autolite 3923's instead of the Autolite 3293's!!!!

Message: Ran them in my 97' 5.2 as well. They are not a direct replacement they have a shorter reach and are a cooler range. Trust us they will work in your truck.

Message: about mixing up the # 's well that was a typo. I also wanted to comment on the shorter reach. I wasn't gonna buy a plug that could possibly have messed up my pistons. You all have 4.7's that are always righting back to me so I doesn't sound to convincing?

Message: They will work fine. How can a shorter plug mess up your pistons?? If you are that worried, just buy the replacement Champions that come in it stock. The Autolites are cheaper though.

Message: Nick
I also checked the recommended application on "autolite.com"
The 5224s are recommended for the 5.9 as well.
Who came up with the 3923 recommendation for the 5.2/5.9 anyway?.

Message: Bernd off of speed tweaks it is in the tips and tricks section. Here it is right off of the site.
While the factory and factory replacement spark plugs work, the Magnum engines have shown slightly better performance with the Autolite 3923 Spark Plugs. The Autolite 3923's are a standard tip spark plug that is one heat range colder than stock, as compared to the extended "Special Power Tip" plugs that the engine came with. Why the difference? A standard tip plug is less susceptible to detonation, is a good replacement for modified Magnum engines, and work very well with modified engines as well...especially when using Nitrous or a Supercharger. In some cases, the Autolite 3923's also showed a 4-5HP difference at the rear wheels on the Dyno. (The test was performed with new OEM Spark plugs vs. the Autolite 3923's. No changes to the engine and the plugs were tested on the same day under the same conditions.)

Message: Nick A. I'm not sure why you posted this twice but my answer on this post is the same as the other one. Yes - they will work and will work better. I've proven it at the track with my '99 5.2 which uses the same plugs as other 5.2s. In fact, they are probably the same plugs that were in my '69 Satelite 318 (I'm showing my age here because I bought that '69 new). You asked about pinging in the other post if I remember right. Colder plugs will help a little but I use a 180 degree thermostat. Also I live in the deep south so I can run 60/40 water to antifreeze which helps heat transfer and I use a bottle of Water Wetter by Redline. I have the Mopar PCM and pull a 3000 pound boat with no pinging even when climbing hills. If you have a pinging problem and try these mods, the pinging should go away. If it persists, check out the TSB on plug wire routing.
