Message: Ok i have a problem. I have a strip near where i live which is measured off to be VERY close to 1/4 mile. I know its not exact but it is marked. I try my truck out every once in a while thru it. I got a 4.7 cc auto(Stock). I was gettin an estimated 87 mph thru 1/4 about a couple days ago. Today i got around 80 mph. BIG DIFFERENCE. Even though its not exact thats a hellabig difference. The only change to truck is i just had to put the original tires 2/55/65 15 on the back and am still using 2/35/60 15 on the front.(Cuz i had a flat on back). Does the difference in unporportional tire size make that big of a difference, or does my computer have to readjust to the bigger tire size for the speedometer to be correct. Or am i goin crazy or is my truck just loosin power. It only got 54000 miles on it.
Thanx for any info

No, you're not losing your mind. With the shorter tires on it, you speedo was off slightly (it would read faster mph). You also had about a 3.63 gear ratio instead of a 3.55 gear ratio. You add both the difference in acceleration due to gear ratio and the difference in what the speedo was telling you and you end up with different mph! hahahaha
