and it keeps then engine at 180 degrees, you probably won't notice much of a difference in the winter time, maybe the heater will be a few degrees cooler.

Message: The tstat temp spec is to keep your cylinder wall temp high enough to burn your fuel efficiently, and low enough for proper cooling. "Cooler is better" is not always the case with computer controlled fuel delivery. The days of just taking them out if you live south of Madisonville, TX are over. Unless you're having trouble with running hot, I recommend leaving it alone. And even if you are, try an OEM replacement first. If that doesn't fix it, then you've got other problems like restriction or water pump housing impeller clearance deterioration. Dodge computers are pretty smart(you should see Chevys that require a 210 coolant temp try to run right with a 160 degree tstat)and you may not notice much, but don't fix something that isn't broke.

Message: I'm from Canada and we had a string of cooler weather last week (around -18 without the wind chill) and I put in a 180 t-stat over the summer. I didn't notice any difference, except that the heater/defroster runs about 15 degrees F cooler (around 7 Degrees C). It still did a good job in keeping the windows free of frost and keeping us nice and warm.
I wouldn't go any lower than 180 tho', or else you'll freeze inside your truck and your windows will become all iced up.

Message: As the Canadians would say "ya", the 160 T-stat is a problem for some Dakotas in the warmer climates as well. The computer doesn't like running that cool.
