Message: nah, its all your imagination my friend..there is no proof that a spacer could make one bit of difference anymore than a dumb magnet on a fuel line.
I think sometimes when we spend money on something like this and we make the effort to install it, we are so inclined to want to believe it made a difference...even if you "feel" a difference upon installing something like this, I am convinced it is because you resolved some other item, (leaky gasket, loose tb nuts..etc), just by installing the item. So, even though you swear it improved performance for you, it was likely that you improved some other small item that needed attention anyway.
I saw all sorts of nutty things in all my years as a Harley mechanic, (now retired), so things like magnets and spacers are no surprise to me...what was that statement P.T. Barnum said?
"There is a ****** born every minute" and friends, I suggest there have been a LOT of minutes.
Just my 2 cents and no offense meant to anyone.
Good luck,

Message: Horbedan is correct. While the TB space may work with the stock TB, the aftermarket TB's were designed to work as is. Installing one of those spacers may defeat what was engineered into the aftermarket TB's...especially the Flometrics TB's.

Dear Sir, thank you for your inquiry in our products. The spacer makes no HP on the Dyno. It makes all of it's power in torque in the low end. If you haven't noticed any power on the Dyno or the track then it's doing what it's supposed to. You would not see any gains down the 1/4 mile or increases on the Dyno. The idea of the spacer is to improve overall drivability and fuel mileage. In most cases when people install a bolt on part they expect better mileage and power, what happens is they are into the throttle a lot more than before trying to test performance and that's when the decrease in mileage happens.
Sincerely,
-------------------------------------------
My thoughts on that:
So...it doesn't make any more HP, is not supposed to help in 1/4 mile performance (or on the Dyno), and is mainly for mileage and bottom end Torque. Well, Dyno's show TQ figures and there were no changes, mileage stayed the same, and 1/4 mile performance wasn't affected on the several others who have tried it (including us). They also are still not able to explain how the spacer keeps the swirl effect through the two turns (90 degree and 45 degree) in the intake plenum of the Dodge Ram/Dakota/Durango manifolds.

Message: to all of you that are getting ready to buy an after market part for your dak wheather it is a 3.9,5.2,5.9,8.0 whatever it may be, even if you own a brand Xrament. the only way you are going to find out if something works is if you take tha t chance and try it your self. the other thing that I notice is that some of these parts work for some of you and some don't. What it seems is that all of you fellow dak owners are forgetting or don't understand is that their are know two engine that are supposed to be identicle, are going to perform the same. I can say this cause I have personally built many engines.
just to give you an example, a buddy of mine with a 69 superbee and myself 68 charger built the same exact 383s same parts, machine work, comp ratio, haed cc, etc. When we where done it was dyno time. after the initial break in period, his #s where in 496hp 464tq, mine where, 528hp 476tq. remember everthing was the same, except that mine was done two weeks after his at a 18 degree cooler day. but when I tried to explian that cooler denser air was worth more hp, he did not want to here it. "whatever". I personally did try the spacer on my dak. I also have done some mods to my intake. when I received the spacer the first thing I noticed was that the quality was really good, hope that it wasent going to be engine jewlery. I was at the track the day I installed it. first was the noise, no big deal, second was that it was a little bit more responsive, third and best was that I was pulling 3 more mph at the end of the front straight.
so it did work for me.

Message: MannyZ- How did you know you were pulling 3 more hp at end of stright with the TB spacer?? Did you have a portable dyno hooked up to your truck that workes when driving it?? There is no way to accuratly calculate 3hp gain on your vehicle. I have seen 5hp swings on a dyno from the same vehicle with back to back runs and no changes.

Message: ill correct my previous statement. w/o the spaceer there is a slight low end torque loss, but mileage is still the same and it seems to respond better to full throttle aceleration w/o the spacer
final verdict: the amount of power u get is not worth the noise, but what do u expect for $75
BTW if anyone want to test this thoery I'll sell mine to you for $60 neg. e-mail me if u want it. It WILL add some power.
