Just had my first kill today. my brother has a 2000 Silverado Ext Cab 4x4 with the 4.8 V8 and 4.10's. I have a QC 4.7 4x4 auto 3.55. We raced twice, the first time I jumped about 2 truck lengths ahead of him and stayed there until his truck shifted into 3rd gear, by that time he was faster until my truck shifted to 3rd, but by that time he was about 1 truck length ahead of me. The second race started the same way, but by the time my truck was getting ready to shift into 3rd he was still about 1 truck length behind me (the race ended then). I don't know what was different between the 2 races. My truck always shifts into 3rd at about 5800 rpm in "D". Twice already I have noticed a drastic loss of power above 5000. Anyways, that's subject for another posting.
