Subject: Heat shield IP: Logged
Message: I have installed a Intake copied from a pic from a post from Bakerman and would like to know if anyone has a nice looking, functional and easy to make heat shield to place between the filter and engine? I believe a piece of galvanized sheet metal fabricated to fit around and beside the filter would be sufficient, wouldn't it? I am new at this and am experimenting, I like the air intake setup and the way it sounds. Does everyone install a heat shield. Is it OK to just leave it unprotected? I live in NE so it gets pretty cold here sometimes. I have seen the Z-tube for sale and it dosen't have a shield for engine heat, Shall I worry about it or just forget it and get over it???

Message: I would tell you to visit my Intake/Heat Shield Install article, but right now, my server is down...
Maybe it will be back up tomorrow, if my web host cooperates, and then you can see what I did to build a heat shield.
