hey everyone you all are dumb a vette normal stock not the z06 but the rest are at best 5.6 0-60 wrx is 5.4 0-60 vette and wrx would be a good match same no real winner i now cars better then anyone in here and i now a good mod job on a wrx would make a mclaren f1 wish it was never born even though a mclaren F1 is a 11 second car stock

WRX's might run pretty good but finding somebody that can drive one is kinda tricky . There was 3 of them at the track last week and I was getting some pretty good holeshots on them and I have 2.71 gears and 28" tires. Everytime one of them would try to launch they would either stall it , smoke the clutch , or baby it out to get it moving . It was pretty funny though because the first time I ran one that night he staged with the back wheels , I guess he thought he needed a head start.

I have driven a WRX a couple of times and I agree they are very fast but almost impossible to get a good hole shot with. I read where they had to use 4000 rpm clutch dumps to get those 14.5 sec times.Even a Subaru is not going to last long with that kind of beating.But once you get those little peckers going boy they really move!!

Except that the magazine that did the 4000 rpm launches got better then 14.5's. They got as low as 14.1, and 4 different magazines all got under 14.3. That type of launch is what it took to get a twin turbo 3000 GT or Stealth to break into the 13's. Very few drivers who just spent $40000 on their TT 3000GT were about to rev it to 4000 and dump the clutch. Another interesting story was with the Honda S2000, if you shift it at a "normal" 6000 rpm, where most people will end up shifting it, then it only will run a 16 sec 1/4 mile. Some of those cars you really got to wail on to get the good times. One reason I like my R/T is just doesn't seem to be working and can hang with the likes of a WRX, even on the autocross track!

Well I own a 2002 wrx, and let me put it to you this way, the only way a dakota could take me is if I wasn't racing him. My car is stock except for my 17" rota's on toyo tires. And I literally can keep up with z28's and 5.0 mustangs. And in abt a week from now after my front mount intercooler, blowoff valve, and hks exhaust is installled, forget it, nothing can touch this car for the money, yeah a vette ok 45k to my 25k, end of story. Don't believe me go testdrive one, if your lucky you'll drive out the dealer with one, I know I did.

I'd love to go test drive a WRX.... but I wouldn't go betting that a Dakota couldn't take your WRX. I'm sure you meant that no STOCK Dakota was gonna take you. There's lots and lots of quick Dakotas on the road that aren't stock anymore.

corvettes do 0-60 in 4.9 z06 does it in 4.2. maybe an auto vette is 5.6 but an auto wrx is probably in the 6s

I think it's funny as sh!t to see someone come on here and say nothing can beat their cars. I said it before and I'll say it again, theres always someone out there faster than you so give up that argument cause your gonna lose. And by the way, if your racing someone it's not how much money you have in your vehicle, it's who is faster. So if you can be faster by only puttin in a couple thousand in your vehicle then great. If it takes you 20 thousand and you beat him then guess what, you still beat em. As for the 9.9 sec run in the 1/8th, that's not to good considering I was runnin 9.5's before I put on my nitrous, headers, or underdrive pulleys. Just my 2 cents. :-)

I would race one to see... But my philosophy is "how fast can you afford"? And sure, you get you bargin shoppers but it really comes down to the money.

Yeah yeah, a WRX is fast for the money but I'd take a BMW M3 with the SMG on it and leave your punk a$$ in the dust. I hate these 17 year old kids that put a coffe can, lawnmoer sounding exhaust on their piece of crap WRX's and Honda Civics and think they're god. Personally, give me a stock Dakota RT with some mods here and there and I'll pound all of them...Detroit muscle over European crap! Well, except for BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, etc. but who the hell can afford those? Not me and I work for BMW!

Now C'Mon Jay, I don't think that the WRX is in the same class as the Civic. I'm not a ricer by any means, but I do know when a car is fun to drive, and that the WRX is. The Civic is just an economy car that has a huge aftermarket following (Thank You Fast and Furious). The WRX is a Rally bread sports car.

Yeah, I'll give you that. I just think that a lot of these kids are smartening up and going straight for the WRX instead of wasting money building up a piece of crap. There's a race club here in Utah and most of the guys run WRX's because they are quick little cars but I think in a straight line a well done Dakota RT would put most of these cars to shame. There's just something to be said about Detroit Muscle ya know?!

For the guy that said with enough money a WRX "would make a mclaren f1 wish it was never born." Short of putting an all new motor in your not gonna make a WRX a 230+ mph car. Period. That's like a dak guy saying he could make is truck so fast with a 528 hemi. Sure, but where's the sport in that. A F1 is in a league of it's own. And for $1 mil plus it should be.
