Subject: Jet-II effectiveness decreases over time? IP: Logged
Message: Howdy!
In talking with a friend today about the Jet-II chips, he mentioned they're only good for a couple of days. He explained that the PCM will figure out the jet2 adjustments and step down on its part to balance out over the course of a couple of days.
That true? Seems lame.
How much would it cost to get the mopar pcm for a 2000 V6...installed(dealer flash)?
Thanks!

Message: There is no mopar pcm's for v6's...I dont think the jet chip "dies" as your friend says. I have been running mine for about a year and a half now and when I take it out and reset the computer without it there is a MAJOR difference in power and in gas milage. I am going down to have my truck dynod in about 2 months and will get a dyno with and without the jet chip...I will let everyone know what the results are.

Message: I use the Stage II on my 4.7 automatic, . For the past 3 months now works awsome, trans shifts way better and accelerates quicker. I use 89 octane fuel. Works great for me. I am happy. The stock Pcm shoots out the signals, the Jet takes them and modifies those signals.. It would be different if the Jet inputed the signals into the Pcm but this is not how it works..Jet module modifies the factory Pcm signal this is why it will never break down, nor the Pcm will ever catch on..

Message: Kevster: The vehicle has numerous sensors throughout every major system that feeds info back to the PCM. It seems that it would be very possible for the JET to adjust settings initially, then as the new info is passed to all the individual sensors they in turn tell the PCM to adjust for those diferences, maybe after a while the PCM could "learn" to make adjustments to the JET input..... Just a thought.
