Message: I have a 98 Dakota CC w/5.2. I have installed a powerdyne supercharger but am disapointed with the results. My 1/8 mile times went from 10.00 to 9.60. Other mods to truck are MP headers with three inch exhaust, msd btm, 3922's gapped at .035, stock computer, stock injectors, modified throttle body and trans go shift kit. What am I missing, I must run 1.5 deg retard per # of boost to prevent pinging. I know the actual boost measured below TB was 5.25 at 5000rpm. Also have 180 t-stat. I have installed the map bypass as well.

Message: My question is will a 160 deg stat help?
Would 24# injectors help, Am I out running the stock 19#? Is a computer upgrade necessary? I have ordered a larger K&N filter.

Message: Turk: What fuel are you running? Also, a little tip...if you ask the dealer to flash your PCM with the "Detonation Fix", it retards the timing slightly (sucks for N/A engines) and works VERY well on the Supercharged engines. As for the injectors, unless you're running 9#+, you don't need to change them. Also, where did you hook up the fuel pump and is the FMU actually working? (You can test this with a fuel pressure gauge attached to the service port on the fuel rail.)
The air filter is a BIG problem with the Powerdyne kit and I highly recommend that you get a 6x9" cone to replace that (339CFM) small filter that Powerdyne includes in the kit. We've already found that it causes performance issues and, literally, chokes the blower. (The blower puts out 850CFM...that filter is way too small.)
You really don't need to be running the 3922's as the 3923's work fine with 6# boost.
Last thing, are you running the auxillary pulley to prevent belt slippage?
On the 160 t'stat...no, you don't need to run it that cold...the 180 is more than adequate.
Give me a call at: (512) 507-8303 if you want to talk about it over the phone.

Message: I am running 93 octane. I just finished changing the filter and have not even tried it yet. I do have trouble keeping the belt from slipping. If there is a aux pulley to prevent this where do I get one?
