I'm kinda new to the whole engine mod thing but i was wondering what will be cheap and boost performance on a 3.9L V6 and how big of an engine can you drop into one? And whats the best sounding exaust system I was leaning toward Flowmasters

Hi I have a 90' 3.9L. Cheep mods: Well, fairly cheep anyways, redo the intake and exhaust systems. Go with a K&N FIPK kit and I went with Flomaster exhaust. sounds good and seems to perform better. Have no Dyno so can back with facts. Have heard Edlebrock headers make a good difference. You could always try the Jet chip Stage 1. stage 2 seem to be problamatic. MSD Ignition is good I have heard. But I would start with the K&N. Around 100. bucks gets you up to 20 HP and alittle better gas milage. My flowmaster system cost me about 275.00 but I had a shop install it. Jet chip is something like 200 bucks. Check ebay. Headers sell for around 250-300 bucks. Then another few bucks to install.
Well, good luck and hope I at least gave yo alittle info you can use. Engine swap. Go with a Mag 318. Alot of mods for it too. Will cost 1,000 bucks to install. Another 1500- 2000 for ehgine itself. But it will fit in better than any other engine. Have seen a 360 in a Early 90's Dak. Very expensive though.
Talk to you later and have a good one.
