DC replaced my motor today. Came from the factory w/a bad rod. It's all good. I just don't like to go through the break in time again.

Which motor do you have, how many miles , etc. Just curious because one of my friends has a 2000 Durango with a 360 and it's got a rod knock already.

I had an '89 V-6 auto with o/d that had a #2 rod knock when I got it. It had 18,000kms when I got it and it had 280,000 when I got rid of it. I kept it tuned and changed the oil regularly and had no other problems with the engine.
The tranny lost 1st and 2nd gear one night but the warranty took care of that.
I think it was the first year for the FI.

3.9L 14,245 miles did it from about 3000 miles. Had a bad rod.

no, wish they did. the miles are for the truck not just the motor.
