Message: Drew,
I ran mine at 5 ft. above sea level at 80 degrees and about 50% humidity. I had 25,000 miles on my '99 5.2 SLTCC/auto/3.55 limited slip at the time. I have Gen II, 180 stat, Kenne Bell headers, flowmaster cat back, 3923 autolite spark plugs, Trans Go shift kit. I ran mid 15s last year. I thought I would run better than that :-( I have a Mopar PCM and 3.91 gear set on order. I hope that these things gets me into the high 14s but I doubt it. Throttle body and maybe manifold will be next.
Incidentally, right after I ran it at the track, I put it on a chassis dyno and got 197 HP at the rear wheels.

Message: Hello, earth to Bob. The man asked me what other SIMILAR trucks would run at sea level. I am at sea level and have a similar truck. That is what I ran. No one was talking about those little 4.7s.
I admit that I have seen some regular cab 4.7/5 sp./3.91ls geared Dakotas run under 14 second 1/4 mile but my sons STOCK '98 5.2/5sp/3.91ls does that too. As for the CC version with 3.55 gears & auto, its a pipe dream. I hear everybody talking but that is all it is - talk. HEHEHEHE. The numbers at the track just don't show it. I've seen the numbers and I've seen the pouty faces when they get high 15's and even mid 16's. They were disillusioned.....kinda'like you. Hehehehe.
Hell no. We won't go. (we went anyway)

With a glasspack and Airaid intake. my moms 5.9L Jeep Grand Cherokee ran 8.11 to 60 mph and 16.4 in the 1/4. I read that a crew cab Dakota with 3.55's and 4x4 will run 8.2 to sixty. Elevation sucks.

Message: Russ,
I ain't sure if the "taco" description is correct. That would indicate Bob is crazy. I believe he is crazy like a fox. He likes to fool people and fool with people. I like the idea myself on the 6 cyl. thing. I think I'll order my new stickers when I go have my new Mopar PCM flashed. Back in the day, that was called a sleeper. Cool!
I may be crazy but it keeps me from going insane.

I'll get back to you in August when it is 101% humidity and 95+ degrees here at sea level. Due to temp. and humidity, our cars can lose .3 to even .5 sec. in the 1/4.
